I am so excited to blog about my incredible daughter-in-law. Sarah is amazingly wonderful and words will not do her justice but I will make an attempt at honoring her on her 23rd birthday! It’s Sarah’s birthday on March 22nd and this is a tribute to her and to her life.
When I was expecting Tanner, I didn’t know if I was having a boy or a girl. Now, I am so grateful God sent us Tanner. He is so wonderful and brings so much joy to us!
The name William and I had picked out (if Tanner would have been a girl) was Sarah. I now have a Sarah and she is such a blessing in our lives.
I also wanted a child in between Laura Lee and Michael. There is a four and a half year span between the two. William was very concerned about my health because I become extremely sick in the first half of my pregnancies. He felt my body needed a “rest” from
everything it had been through. Well, I now have a daughter (Sarah) in between Laura Lee and Michael (born in 1986) and will have another daughter (Jennifer) in June that age also. So that yearning inside has now been filled!
I consider the two special circumstances above evidences of God’s tender mercies in my life! Little did I realize the joy my daughter-in-law(s) would bring into my life.
Just last week I taught the Primary children about the story of Ruth and Naomi. There was such a deep and abiding love between them. That is how I feel about Sarah (and Jennifer).
Sarah is so humble that she doesn’t realize how wonderful she is. I have told her that if William and I were to have searched the world over, we could not have found anyone more special for Ryan. She is sweet, she is kind, she is tender, she is gentle. Sarah exhibits great gratitude for others and for what others do for her. She is always aware of others sacrifices, and she sacrifices a great deal herself to serve others. I have witnessed an amazing sacrifice she made, for the benefit of something greater than herself. It was incredibly powerful!
Sarah’s heart is pure. She is so giving and so thoughtful to others. She has a truly unselfishness spirit, which is rarely displayed in one so young.
Sarah stands up for what is right. She has a quiet spiritual strength, which is steadfast. She is faithful and compassionate. She truly wants to please God and follow His ways!
Sarah recently posted a blog about how important our choices are in life. She recognizes how our choices and actions determine everything about the way we live our lives. She is passionate about how our agency can be used for good (or not) and about how clueless people are sometimes concerning where their choices will lead them. Her words were filled with wisdom and truth. She teaches me so much and I am grateful for her insights.
Sarah is a beautiful girl. She is so fun to be with. She is one of those girls who has a hundred different “looks”. The camera captures all those different looks, and all the different angles of her beauty. Her beauty within is so lovely.
Sarah is very domestic. She spoils Ryan with her cooking! She loves to cook and she enjoys baking also. She is always fixing Ryan amazing meals. I have had her teach me how to make her delicious rolls, how to make her white chocolate cheesecake, how to cook chicken like she does, etc., She enjoys cooking and learned a great deal from her mother. She makes desserts, breads, ethnic foods, (we are hoping to sample her Indian food – our favorite), pies from scratch – including the pumpkin pulp, etc., What a blessing for a family!
Sarah is talented! She played and coached soccer in high school, she cheered competitively in high school, she is intelligent and articulate. She picks up things quickly. Sarah is especially good at making things look beautiful (arranging flowers, tying ribbons, folding napkins, arranging fabrics, etc.,). At her Ohio wedding reception, Sarah saved the day with her ideas and help to make the decorations “sing”.
Sarah is adventuresome. She wanted to go to New York City for her honeymoon and I am so glad she and Ryan were able to go there. She just had her gall bladder out the week before, but that didn’t stop her. She’s a go getter and is willing to pay the price for what she deems important.
Sarah is a defender of the family. She recognizes its value and place in society and the valuable role mothers have. She understands that the family is key and vital and is first priority above all others but God.
I wrote to Sarah for her birthday and told her that every time I think of her I smile. She just is such a blessing to Ryan and to our family.
Happy Birthday Sarah. We recognize you for your complete goodness, your wholesome life, your righteous decisions, your patience in enduring trials, your love for your God and Savior, and for your total beauty!
You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO loved by us!
We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Grateful for you!
